Dean Ryan
Strength & Conditioning Coach

Dean has recently returned to Ireland after 10 years living in Australia and most recently Fiji, where he worked as a Development Coach with AFL Fiji. His role here involved working with young Fijian athletes helping them to develop into physically robust and technically efficient Australian Rules Footballers.
Prior to his time in Fiji, Dean was a Strength & Conditioning Coach for the Greater Western Victoria Rebels, working with elite junior footballers preparing them physically for the transition to professional AFL football. Dean has also worked in Rugby League as a Strength & Conditioning Coach with the Victorian Thunderbolts U20s who are a part of NRL Victoria and Melbourne Strom’s development program. Dean is an experienced Level 2 Coach with the Australian Strength & Conditioning Association (ASCA) and has also worked with athletes from soccer, athletics as well as professional Jockeys.
Upon his return to Ireland, he has taken on the role as the Strength & Conditioning Coach for Old Wesley RFC U20s and is also enjoying helping with local GAA clubs. Dean is incredibly passionate about coaching and helping people of all fitness levels to simply become fitter and healthier through an active lifestyle, as well as developing robust athletes to perform at high levels. He believes in developing physical and mental abilities and sustainable life skills when working with his clients. The lessons learned through sport and obtaining physical fitness can have a positive impact on all areas of life and as a coach, Dean aims to have a positive influence on people’s lives.
Dean is a keen runner and regularly competes in races from 800m to 5km-10km.
