Lead Physiotherapist with the Laois GAA Senior Football Team. Sean Gaffney obtained his BSc. (Hons) Degree in Physiotherapy from the University of Bradford in England and graduated in 2011. During his undergraduate study, Sean’s work placements allowed him to gain experience in a variety of areas within his role as a physiotherapist, allowing him to develop an excellent skill set when treating conditions of a musculoskeletal, orthopaedic and neurological nature to name but a few. Sean is dedicated to continually up skilling and adhering to his continual professional development.

With a strong emphasis on manual therapy and a hands on approach Sean’s main areas of interest include sports injuries, musculoskeletal injuries, neurological disorders, pre and post surgical rehabilitation and injury prevention through prehabilitation. His techniques have seen him develop an excellent reputation and achieve results with an established client base in the Cavan area.

As a result of his ability, growing reputation and eagerness to learn Sean had the privilege of working with the Leinster Rugby team for the 2012/2013 season, culminating in the double success of winning the Amlin Challenge Cup and the Rabodirect Pro 12 trophy. The experience of working with one of the top club teams in Europe is something he hopes will help him fit in with the exceptionally high standards of care already established at MDC Physiotherapy.

Out of the clinic, Sean is a keen GAA man. As a native of Cavan, he was privileged to be a member of the Cavan Senior Football panel in 2012 and had the honour of captaining his club Kill Shamrocks to Junior Championship success in 2013.
