Shane Fagan


Shane Fagan Physio

Shane, a native of Maynooth, Co. Kildare, graduated from Dublin City University (DCU) with a 1.1 honours degree in Athletic Therapy and Training. In 2020, he completed his Professional Masters of Physiotherapy from University College Dublin. During his studies he completed two research theses in the area of hamstring injury prevention in Gaelic Football, and balance, concussion, wearable sensors and injury prevention in Rugby union. The findings of his research on hamstring injury prevention in Gaelic Football were presented at SportsKongres, a sports medicine conference in Copenhagen, Denmark in early 2020. 

Shane has worked as physiotherapist with various sports teams in Gaelic Football, Hurling, Rugby Union, Soccer and Golf. Shane is an ex-professional footballer who has played as a goalkeeper for Coventry City in the UK and in the League of Ireland with Shamrock Rovers, Cabinteely and Longford Town.

He has a keen interest in sports injuries, exercise-based rehabilitation, manual therapy and sports performance. He is looking to develop his skillset further by becoming a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) in the near future.
